PASHA FILMS was founded by filmmaker Farheen Umar when she realized the news media offered few realistic and inspiring aspects of world culture.
An avid traveler to parts of the world where few would venture, Farheen is inspired to tell powerful stories that shed light on larger social and political issues.
Farheen's films and TV series have broadcast on networks CNBC, Al Jazeera Documentaries, PBS and Amazon Prime reaching over 120 million homes worldwide. Her film WOMEN OF ISLAM is acquired by over 70 libraries and Universities including Yale, UC Berkeley and Mount Holyoke among others.
Her film FARAH was commissioned by Al Jazeera global television and was translated into three languages for broadcast to a worldwide audience on Al Jazeera World Television.
Pasha Films also produces high profile corporate videos and employs top professionals in the field of filming and editing to tell stories that educate, entertain and inspire.
We have filmed in Pakistan, Palestine, Turkey and USA to bring international stories to global audiences.
We have been invited to present our films and speak at Conferences, Universities and Library events. Farheen Umar makes an inspiring presentation about challenges and rewards of independent filmmaking and women in film.
